Sports Training at PhysioChiroWellness | There are many phases of treatment at PhysioChiroWellness: 1. Pain care, 2. Postural Correction, 3. Maintenance, and 4. Performance Enhancement. Most patients come in to see us for pain treatments in the beginning. Once pain is decreased our next goal is to prevent the pain from returning. This is where postural correction comes into play. Postural correction can happen through a variety of treatments: chiropractic, massage therapy, active release muscle therapy, and physiotherapy. The physiotherapy component includes a very crucial component of strengthening/muscular retraining. The muscular retraining will help to keep the joints in a more optimal and stable position, thus reducing or preventing the pain from coming back.

DON’T USE IT, YOU WILL LOSE IT! So you are now out of pain and your posture is improved/corrected. I guess you can go back to sitting for 8 hours or more per day at school or your job and things will be great! WRONG! You don’t use it, you lose it. Maintenance is an important component of your overall health. Maintaining the gains you have made will help with long term overall health and truly preventing the pain from returning.

Performance enhancement is a specialized program for patients looking for specific sports training, weight loss, strengthening, and endurance training. These programs are carried out by a registered Kinesiologist and are catered to the individuals needs and goals. Agility training, plyometrics, interval training, endurance training, weight lifting, etc. can all be used in a program to help patients achieve their desired target.
