A shoulder injury can occur when an individual performs repetitive movements, overhead motions, and excessive lifting. Common causes of shoulder injury
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease characterized by the wear down of the cartilage covering the top of the bones. Osteoarthritis is known for causing swelling, pain, and bone spurs.
Rotator Cuff
The rotator cuff is made up of four tendons and muscles that sit around the shoulder joint. The rotator cuff is in charge of holding the arms in place, as well as, allow them to move in all directions. Rotator cuff injuries can occur lifting heavy weights, falling onto the shoulder, and repetitive movements. Symptoms of Rotator cuff injury may include pain in the shoulder and arm, weakness in the shoulder, snapping sounds, and low range of motion.
Frozen Shoulder
Frozen shoulder can develop when a person adopt bad habits caused by pain. It can also occur as a result of an injury, overuse, or diseases such as diabetes or strokes. Frozen shoulder is characterized by stiffness, pain, and low range of motion in the shoulder joint, and it tends to develop very slowly.
