Avoiding Pain at Work

These are a couple of simple tips to help avoiding pain at work. Do you have to sit for prolonged periods to complete your work? Minimize back or neck pain while completing your work. If your job requires for you to sit throughout the day, stand up! Shift your weight from one leg to the next for 60 seconds. Try balancing on one foot for 30 seconds each. Reach your hand up to the ceiling for 15 seconds. If you do a lot of typing, literally shake your hands continuously for 15 seconds. Avoid holding the phone between your shoulder and your ear, and shift from side to side in your seat every 5 minutes. Also, to avoid preventable conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, use one hand to stretch the opposite palm and forearm as indicated in the photo above.
