Welcome 2018! We begin this new year a little bit chilly but with tons of energy, ready to make a difference in our lives. Many of us spent some time thinking what we want to change or how we want to improve in 2018, but often, vague and ambitious new year’s resolutions are not completed successfully. Having New Year’s resolution is a fantastic idea and January is a perfect time to start new habits and update your lifestyle. All New Year’s resolution don’t need to end in frustration and failure. The key is to choose one or two goals at a time, and try it for at least a month or longer if needed. Why? this is so your goal slowly but surely incorporates into your regular activities. Here are five attainable health goals to consider in 2018:

Break Free From Delivery

Remember “treat yo’ self”? How about test yo’ self! to not order any food to your door. Takeouts are often tempting; whether it is for flavour, schedule conflicts, or just tired of cooking, there is always a reason to order some food right to the comfort of home. Unfortunately, research shows that ordering food often leads to bad eating habits including overeating, high sodium diets, and alarming levels of cholesterol. In fact, some suggest that eating more than twice a month can result in an extra pound per month.  By taking control of your food (lean proteins, whole grains, and vegetables) you can guarantee yourself a good healthy meal.

Water, Water, Water

We have all heard human bodies are made of 60% water, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to consume it. An easy health goal for yourself in 2018 is to drink at least 3 or 4 bottle of water per day (of course we recommend using reusable water bottles!). So how can this impact your live? Dehydration decreases brain function and memory, whereas, being hydrated relieves constipation, prevents kidney stones, he;ps with hangovers, and leads to weight loss.

Plank Challenge 2.0

Contrary to the original online planking challenge, this plank does not need to be performed in any peculiar place in order to get a giggle. Healthy goals can be so simple that most people can commit to it. Planks can strengthen your core, improve posture, and help maintain overall health of most of your muscles. Only one minute per day can go a long way.

Walk-a-ton

Time to forget cars, cabs, elevators, even phones! make time to go outside and walk. What if you don’t have time due to work? Well, instead of using the office phone to talk to your colleagues, just walk to their offices! Any opportunity you get, walk.

Take care of your health
